PCM Replacement Instructions for Vehicles with PATS system

🔧 Replacing PCM only — B, C, F or G type PATS
Required Equipment: A scan tool with the Parameter Reset function, or a J2534 scan tool is required to perform the reset. The tool and software used will give specific instructions to follow.
📋 General Steps:
Cycle a key in ignition to RUN
Enter Security Access on the PATS control function module:
Type B: PATS module
Type C: Instrument Cluster
Type F: PCM
Type G: Instrument Cluster Module
(This process takes 10 minutes)
Select "Parameter Reset" and exit Security Access
Select PCM Keep Alive Memory (KAM) reset
Start vehicle
🔄 Replacing PCM only — E type PATS
📋 Simple 3-Step Process:
Cycle key 1: Turn to OFF, then RUN and keep for 3 seconds, then back to OFF
Cycle key 2: Turn to RUN and keep for 3 seconds, then OFF
Start vehicle
⚠️ Important Notes
PATS Types: Make sure to identify your vehicle's PATS type correctly before proceeding with the reset procedure. Each type requires different module access points.
Timing: Follow the timing requirements precisely, especially for the 10-minute security access period and the 3-second key cycles.
